Location and Directions to Taimate If you are traveling from the north, Taimate is approximately 30 minutes drive from Blenheim. You will travel through Seddon and past the Salt Works at Lake Grassmere. Taimate is 4km south of the Saltworks on State Highway 1. If you are traveling from the south, Taimate is approximately 1 hours drive from Kaikoura. Travel up the coast and through Ward. Taimate is 6km north of Ward on State Highway 1.
